Installing Necessary Tools

1. First install Xiaomi PC Suite

2. To connect phone to pc need install all drivers before start

• Windows 10 users should additionaly go to c:\Windows\inf  and search file "wpdmtp.inf" press right button on it and  select INSTALL

Downloading Necessary Firmware

Firstly you need to know what is your exact phone model.

The best way to accomplish that is to read this information from the back of the phone or from the Xiaomi box.

You may also get this information from IMEI.info.

All you have to do is type in your imei number and read the specification of the device.

Necessary information is Model and what Chipset is in phone, becouse some models got 2 or 3 type of processor inside and for every Chipset is other firmware.

We need to know too customization your device is using. In order to find out this information go to: Phone Menu >>> Settings >>> About Phone

Next MIUI version you should find:

• MIUI GLOBAL version
• MIUI CHINA version
• MIUI DEVELOPER version

Depent what we got in Xiaomi we select same firmware or higher

(in MIUI line can check exp. MIUI GLOBAL 8.2 / STABLE 8.2.10.0)

Downgrade firmware without Unlocked Bootloader is not allowed.

When we all know we can download firmware for our phone from

www.miui.com

• First select brand ALL
• Next select our XIAOMI model
• After on top of page select what chipset we got
  •  MTK GLOBAL
  •  QUALCOMM GLOBAL
  •  MTK CHINA

• Depent on our chipset and MIUI version from phone menu select correct
• When we are in correct tab just press DOWNLOAD Full ROM button in STABLE ROM TAB.

• Remember to select only higher or same version firmware that we got in phone. 
  Downgrade firmware without Unlocked Bootloader is not allowed.

Update Flashing Tutorial

1. Remember that phone battery should be at least 50% before start.

2. Turn on wifi in phone and connect to network.

3. Now connect phone to usb cable and in drop down menu select 

USB icon and choose TRANSFER FILES (MTP) 

4. Now all drivers will be installed and you will should see phone in My Computer tab like Phone name(exp. Redmi Note 4 etc.)

5. Next open it and go to internal storage 

6. Copy downloaded firmware here

7. Now unlock phone and go to:

• Settings 
• About phone  
• System Updates
• Tap the Show More button in the right upper corner of the screen
• Select Choose update package
  (if phone ask for access to phone memory just allow it)
• Select copied firmware that you do before and press OK button.

8. Update process will start in a few seconds.
Firstly phone will check if the firmware is compatible with our device.
After that phone will start updating rom.

9.Just wait untile process end.

That's all! Your phone is updated to the newest version of MIUI.
This method is the safest available method so it can’t damage your Xiaomi.
