First method:

1. Begin by holding down the Power rocker in order to turn off the XIAOMI Redmi 4A.
2. After that press and hold together the Volume Up and Power key for a few seconds.
3. As soon as the Mi Logo appears on your screen release only the Power key.
4. Keep holding the Volume Up key until the Recovery Mode appears.
5. In this step select English using Volume keys to browse and Power rocker to select.
6. Choose "Wipe Reset" by using Volume Down to scroll and Power button to confirm.
7. Select "Wipe All Data". Use Volume buttons to navigate and Power key to select.
8. Finally, confirm the whole process by selecting "Yes".
9. The restoring operation will be done as soon as the XIAOMI Welcome Panel pops up.
10. Good job! The factory reset operation has just been performed.

Second method:

1. Turn on the device by holding down the Power key for a short while.
2. Afterwards from Main Menu find and select Settings.
3. Then open the Additional settings and go to Backup and Reset.
4. Now you should tap Factory Data Reset.
5. Finally choose Reset phone..
6. When attention shows up read the warning, wait 10 seconds and choose "Next".
7. Well done! The Hard Reset operation will be completed for a short while.
