First method:

1. Begin by holding down the Power key for a short while in order to turn the device off.
2. Next, press and hold together the Volume Down + Power button for a several seconds.
3. Let go of held keys as soon as the Download Mode menu appears on the screen.
4. Afterwards use the Volume keys to navigate to "Bootloader" and press Power button to choose it.
5. Then press the Volume Down to scroll down to option "Reboot to Recovery Mode" and confirm it with the Power button.
6. As soon as the phone with the exclamtion piont appears on the screen hold down Power key.
7. While holding down the Power button press and release Volume Up key.
8. Next select from Recovery Mode menu "wipe data / factory reset" using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
9. Next, choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm the whole operation.
10. Finally, select option "reboot system now".
11. The hard reset operation will be done as soon as the the HTC Welcome Screen appears.
12. Well done! The factory reset has just been performed.

Second method:

1. At the very beginning hold down the Power button to turn the device back on.
2. Then from Main Menu go to Settings and tap Backup & Reset.
3. Afterwards choose Reset phone and select Erase all data.
4. Finally, tap OK to confirm your choice.
5. Success! Your device is ready to use.
